Series A selections involve up to six notes of the Bb concert scale. Basic use of quarter, half, and whole notes. Selections are designed to reinforce or introduce dotted quarter and eighth note patterns. Tutti, woodwind, or brass and saxophone grouping is used. Two to four part harmony is derived by dividing the clarinets into two parts. Clarinet I will involve use of right hand notes to g below mid c. Clarinet 2 is used on the melody or 2nd harmony of tutti passages. Section soli passages are matched with low brass and percussion. If you listen to the sample audio cuts, you will notice there are no holes or thin spots. These pieces are fun to play for everybody in the band.
